Mr Grade Terms and Conditions

The Tutor, Raymond Watts, will hereinafter be referred to as ‘Mr Grade’ or ‘the Tutor’:

Tutor qualifications

Mr Grade’s qualifications include university degrees, teaching certificates, professional qualifications or a combination thereof. Mr Grade is registered with the Disclosure Barring Service for Safeguarding purposes.

The tuition

One of the primary benefits of private tuition is that Mr Grade can tailor his method to the needs of the individual student in a way that cannot be achieved in the larger group classroom setting. There is no set pattern or material for private tuition. Every student is an individual. Mr Grade will find his best approach to the tutorial to enable the student to make progress and to become the ‘very best version of themselves.’ Please ensure that tuition can be conducted in a quiet atmosphere, conducive to concentration. Tuition normally consists of one-hour/60 minute sessions. Shorter or longer sessions should be agreed in advance between the client and Mr Grade. At the start, it is necessary to determine how much tuition a student requires. Mr Grade will try to be as flexible as possible as it is important to get the balance right for you or your child. Some parents use private tuition as a year round supplement to their child’s education. For others, just a few sessions may be required as a top-up and confidence builder prior to an exam. All parents and students would like to see private tuition as a quick fix, in reality it is not. It can take time for trust and rapport to be built and the student/students will often learn at their at their own speed, rather than being pressured.

Responsibilities

Mr Grade cannot be held responsible for chaperoning minors nor guarding a house and household effects while tutoring. Please ensure that a responsible adult is in attendance on the premises at all times.

Attendance

The minimum charge for the attendance of Mr Grade for a tutorial is the hourly rate. Please note that there can be considerable preparation involved before each session of tuition, in addition to travel time and cost to the Tutor.

Cancellations without due notice will be charged at the one-hour rate. Tuition stopped (due to technical difficulties or by Mr Grade)

If Mr Grade, for any reason, has to stop tuition due to Wi-Fi or technology problems, Mr Grade will endeavour to restart the tuition as soon as possible or book another tutorial. If Mr Grade’s tuition is stopped by the Tutor, no tuition charge will be made. No charge will be made ‘in good faith’ for clients stopping tuition due to Wi-Fi or technical difficulties, however it is the responsibility of the client to ensure that for online tuition, the student has suitable Wi-Fi broadband bandwidth and technology to ensure tuition progresses unheeded.

Tuition stopped by the client

Please give Mr Grade at least a week’s notice for the end of tuition so that the Tutor may conclude any work and plan accordingly for the student. This cancellation provision applies after tuition has commenced. You may phone, email or text.
